On monday we were asked in to bring in an mechanical object to take apart and then print from, and generally experiment with it. I thought a wallet seemed mechanical enough so that’s what I ended up with, and yeah, the prints ended up nicer than I’d expected…

Taking it apart, laying it out and seeing the superb quality we get at Urban Outfitters…

Inked-up wallet parts…

Simply printed on paper:

With the ones below I used the cardboard and cloth from inside the wallet to print on..

This was a group project, the brief was to find the best set of rules for good design. After thinking of 12 (number of people in the group) different rules/sentences, we ended up with this:

Everyone contributed a line, and this was mine:

These below are just a few photos I took of the test print I did at the the letterpress..

It now hangs in my room for decoration inspiration.

To help us understand CMYK printing a bit better, we were asked to bring in a phot and some tools to print with to the studio. This led to some experiments with print stencils, etc. I found this photo of my little brother quite disturbing/funny while looking through some old photos and decided to use it. It isn’t so disturbing when turned into a line drawing…

Iconic photo

This was one of our first projects, re-doing an iconic photograph. After going through many things, they just weren’t ‘iconic’ enough to redo in the studio. This is when Alex made me look at something so simple: my name. Who other than Greta Garbo? Edward Steichen took a photo of her which became something many women tried to recreate later, just like myself haha. It is a simple black & white photograph which is something most of the people in my session went for, so it was easy for us to set up lighting, etc. in the studio.

The photo I ended up with was this: SO not HOT!

When taking the (most of the time) night bus home, I tend to whip out my camera and take random pictures. What I always ended up taking pictures of was the cctv monitor of inside the bus and trying to catch myself on screen, and all the other people on the bus… even though there are never that many people.

Campaign: BanSpam

It was our aim to ban spam, to remind people how annoying it is… so we went out and did it in a literal sense..

After making some in-your-face posters we went out to Victoria station and spammed people.

Credits go to Sam deCeccatty for filming and editing..

I was bored/lost during a 3D workshop last term and started taking (some quite stalkeresque) pictures of my peers through one of the cardboard pieces I had on the table. Lovely bunch of people there..

Above are three images i was playing around with after going to Liverpool for a football game, this was some sort of entertainment for kids in the city centre. I wanted to try it out to be honest… and below are some images as well, these were covering some barriers in the food area and I found them more interesting than the not so good looking food there.
